Good Morning, Snow

Oh, what a beautiful sight...the freshly fallen snow, the glisten of light in the neighbors' darkened windows, the peaceful silence that follows snow as the world pauses to admire all that is lovely.

And then the silence is broken by a woman, oddly dressed in pajama pants, an offensively large, orange sweatshirt, and fluffy pink snow boots belonging to a child,  screaming around the neighborhood a word that doesn't fit the landscape:

"DAISY!"

Someone, who is normally terrified by snow, got all brave and decided to take a solitary stroll around the neighborhood.
Good morning, dignity.
No need to stick around here.

Sunday Fun

Yesterday we went to visit the Husband's parents.
Naturally we toured their yard in a horse-drawn carriage.
Doesn't everyone?

That mammoth beast is Sadie.
I admit to being a little scared by the carriage ride.  I kept having flashbacks to a certain carriage ride as a child when our feisty pony, Rusty, spooked by the lawn mower, tore the cart up with me in it hanging on for dear life.
Here is some great life advice:
If the carriage ride starts to go awry, JUMP OUT.  Don't hang on.
But Sadie did well.
I jumped out anyway.
Daisy Dog played with her friends.

Well, they played with her.
She checked out Sadie.
Whoa.

Then I decided to take a few pictures of the kids, because my mother-in-laws yard is just one big photo opportunity.

Please disregard the jelly stain on her pants.

Then we went in to have dinner, and I ate meat.
When my mother-in-law makes turkey breast, I eat it.
Because it is that good.
We had a great visit!
And some great memories.

Though next time I may skip the carriage ride.
Just to be safe.

First Day of School

The first day of school went great!  The students this year:

Tiny Love, who is would be in kindergarten or first grade.

Curlyjo, who would be in fourth grade.

I say "would be" because they are homeschooled, and I don't really know what the public school is doing.  I know that my girls are bright, curious, fun, and busy.  That is good enough for me!

After lessons are over for the day, I do this:

Settle in my chair with a cup of tea, my planner and a book.  And my cell phone...I have a friend who is due to have a baby any day now, and I want to know when he arrives.

The girls do this:

Visit Webkins World, the place where brain cells and patience go to die.
They are allowed 15 minutes apiece.

Daisy Dog does this:

We all have our own version of relaxation!
What a wonderful and peaceful first day of school.

Hello, Out There!

Sooooo, I still do not have a computer, which means I am using the computer belonging to my Mom.  It is not good.  Why?  Why am I using such asynine sentance structure?  Because if I use the apostrophe key, the whole computer goes nuts and I cannot type.  I did not realize the vastness of my dependance on contractions.

I am also not sure when I will be getting a new computer.  I really want an imac, but my funds for such a purchase are dwindling due to a money hemorrhage I like to call Daisy Dog.  She now has a cast on her leg and a cone on her head to keep her from removing said cast.  I would show you a really cute picture of her, but apparently the computer belonging to my Mom hates to upload photos as well.  Humphhh.

I miss my little bloggy :(

I wish I didn't hate debt so much, because I would be slidding the card so fast right now and gett(apostrophe)in myself a (apostrophe)lil imac lov(apostrophe)in.

For sure.
